At the June 21st CAN Drug Free Community Coalition meeting Ann Rojas from the Central Jersey Family Health Consortium provided coalition members with information on CJFHC’s Perinatal Opioid Initiative, which delves into the issue of pregnant women with opioid use disorders.
During the presentation, coalition members were provided information to help them understand the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists’ recommendations for the care of pregnant women with an opioid substance use disorder and the screening recommendations for infants who are born with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.
In addition to this presentation and coalition updates, members shared plans for summer community events, including National Night Out. After the meeting a networking session was held for coalition members to connect with one another and strengthen community support for efforts to reduce the impact of substance use on Camden County communities.
